Employee vs. Company: It’s a Dance Off

A few months ago we wrote about a pretty sweet way to resign. Literally. A man, an aspiring baker, whipped up a cake for his employers and used icing to pen his resignation. His tactic paid off, as a handful of media outlets picked up the story, putting him and his baking skills in the spotlight.

Now, a 25-year-old writer is getting press attention after her resignation video, set to Kanye West’s song “Gone.” The video has gone viral, with over 15 million views at the writing of this article. If you haven’t seen the video, you can check it out on Mashable.
Through captions she announces that, while her company is awesome, her boss stymies her creativity, all while dancing throughout the office—even the bathroom! At the end of the video, after a dance break, the text reads, “I quit.”

The company, which produces news videos out of Taiwan, responded quickly by creating their own video. Using the same song and setup, the staff (including the boss) dance throughout the office, and the video finally ends with the company’s response, a large repeating caption, “We’re hiring.”

In the end, the “I quit” video seems to have worked out for the woman. There have been reports of multiple companies offering her a job. What do you think about it? Tell us below.

  1. Queen Latifah offered her a job when she appeared on her show. I often wonder, though, if these offers are really valid or if it’s just jumping on coattails to get some publicity.
