Next week, SHRM 25 is taking place in San Diego, California, where HR leaders and industry professionals from around the world are gathering to discuss the most pressing HR topics. From AI implementation, to how to boost falling employee engagement, to the best employee benefits you can offer, next week will be jam-packed with valuable insights.
Here are 3 trends we’re looking forward to learning more about at SHRM 25.
AI: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
AI is undoubtedly the most dominate conversation in HR, but for all its efficiency, we’re still seeing employee pushback and faulty uses of the technology.
Many sessions are scheduled around all things AI, and we’re excited to hear leaders discuss how and in what areas they’re using AI, but also how they’re mitigating the not-so-savory parts. How are they dealing with AI ethics and governance? Are employees using AI well because they are being trained by HR teams well? Are companies doing a good job rethinking employee roles with the use of digital agents? We want to know how AI is boosting efficiency, but also if it’s allowing for more creative input from employees and teams.
Employee Engagement: Downward Trends and Plans to Rise
Report after report has come out this year all bearing the same news: employee engagement is falling like we’ve never seen before, especially among middle management. With so many changes happening nationwide, it’s hard to pinpoint any one reason why engagement is low, but the severity of the issue remains, and action needs to be taken by HR teams.
At SHRM, we’ll be hearing from Dick Finnegan, CEO of C-Suite Analytics and others on why employee engagement has been tanking, and the most effective tools for HR leaders to solve the crisis. We’ll also be listening to several speakers discussing the multigenerational workforce, and how to engage them and bridge the generational differences from Boomer to Gen Z.
Benefits: What’s Grabbing Workers’ Attention?
It’s no longer enough for companies to offer traditional benefits like health insurance and 401(k). Candidates are demanding competitive and relevant benefits when considering a job.
PTO, tuition reimbursement, flexible schedules, are all cards on the table, and SHRM will be sharing its Employee Benefits Survey results during the conference. We’re excited to hear which benefits are high priority, and what resources HR professionals can use to ensure their job offers are competitive and enticing.
We’ll also be covering the hottest topics on hiring, learning and development, and workplace culture.
