In one of our most popular articles on the HR Daily Advisor, (now with images!), we turn the tables on the profession, and come up with a list of such attributes for Human Resources professionals themselves.

Human Resources management requires an orderly approach. Organized files, strong time management skills and personal efficiency are key to the Human Resources function. You’re dealing with people’s lives and careers here, and when a manager requests a personnel file or a compensation recommendation that lines up with both the organization and the industry, it won’t do to say, “Hold on. I’ll see if I can find it.”

  1. It is a very informative article on the getting the best of out the job interview session. Definitely there are core common competencies that should be required of all job family types and levels within the HR occupation. likewise, for HR generalist. However, it is very important for the interviewer to ensure availability of well defined job specifications and competencies and that the tools to assess such characteristics is credible and robust. i.e competencies and skills are job specific. i.e. on one hand there should be a distinciton between Personnel and HR and on the other hand to the diffirentions between job families within the same HR group such as compensation and benefits, Reward Manangement, Recruitment, Manpower Planning, Training and Development.

  2. For those who have actually been involved in practical HR management and not just theoretics (no harm meant), these skills in my opinion, really stand out as the standard.

Thanks to HR Daily Advisor for making them so vivid.
